Stained glass mirror set in a hand carved live edge wood frame
A (calm)bination of sage and emerald glass accompanied by opaque marblesque pieces soldered and embellished with a brassy gold patina finish.
The raw wood came from my favorite little lumber yard down the street. I spent more time on this wood than anything else I’ve ever made. Sanding over and over starting with 60 grit, finishing with 330 making it feel like butter. Then polyurethane coats, epoxy on the bark. Sanding those down and refinishing. Over and over and over again. Also I chiseled a shelf by hand on the back side so the stained glass/mirror piece had a perfect place to sit.
I also added some backlighting with a battery powered copper wire light strand. It doesn’t need the light, the opaque glass I used shows all its beauty with no light; however, it really fucking pops with the light on.
